Hello, I was just wondering which mound in Mt. Vernon you are referring to. Is it the one at General Electric or a different one.

I ask because I'm from there and am just curious. Plus, if you're talking about the GE mound, then the archeologists were the only ones who didn't know it was a mound. A lot of the local people did and all of the relic hunters.

I live in New York now and work a few blocks from the Indian Museum. They currently have a pottery show and several pieces from the Bonebank site near Mount Vernon are featured prominently. And until recently, a very nice panther pipe from the Mann site was on display at the Brooklyn Museum. Mt. Vernon was apparently a major culteral center way back when. It's unfortunate the current inhabitants either don't know or don't care.
